This page explains which personal data techkrates.com processes, why, and which service providers are involved. It follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, for visitors from the EU, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Hosting
The website is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare, Inc. (USA). To deliver and protect the site, Cloudflare processes technical data of each request, such as IP address, time, requested page, browser and device type. This data is used only to operate the site and defend against attacks.
Website analytics (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used, for example how many people visit, which pages they read and how they found the site. The provider is Google Ireland Limited; data may also be processed by Google LLC in the USA. Google Analytics sets cookies (_ga, _ga_*) and collects pseudonymous usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location (country, city), device, browser and referring website. According to Google, IP addresses are not logged or stored in Google Analytics 4. We do not use this data to identify you and do not combine it with other data.
Google is certified under the EU-US and Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework. You can block cookies in your browser settings or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
Contact form, email, phone and WhatsApp
If you use the contact form, the data you enter (name, company, email address, message) is sent to us via Formspree, Inc. (USA) and delivered to our mailbox. If you contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp (a service of Meta), we receive the data you send us. We use it only to answer your inquiry and, where applicable, to prepare and carry out a project.
Booking a call (Calendly)
The “Book a 20-minute call” button opens a booking page on calendly.com, operated by Calendly LLC (USA). The data you enter there (name, email, appointment) is processed by Calendly and shared with us to hold the call. Calendly’s privacy policy applies.
Links to LinkedIn and other sites
Links to LinkedIn and other external websites are plain links. No data is sent to those sites until you click them.
Preferences stored in your browser
Your choice of language and light or dark mode is stored in your browser’s local storage. It stays on your device and is not sent to us.
Fonts
All fonts are served from techkrates.com itself. Your browser does not connect to Google Fonts or other font services.
Transfers abroad
Some of the providers above are based in the USA or process data there. Where available, transfers rely on the EU-US and Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework or on standard contractual clauses.
Legal basis (EU visitors)
Processing for contact and project requests is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps prior to and performance of a contract). Hosting and website analytics are based on our legitimate interest in operating a secure website and understanding how it is used (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
How long data is kept
Inquiries are kept as long as needed to handle them and any resulting project, and for as long as legal retention periods require. Analytics data is deleted automatically according to the retention period set in Google Analytics (at most 14 months).
Your rights
You can ask for information about the data we hold about you, and ask for it to be corrected, deleted or handed over. You can also object to processing. Just write to [email protected]. You may also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, in the EU, to the data protection authority in your country.
